ILCA 4 & 6 Pre-Regatta Clinic (Blue Regatta)

The ILCA 4 & ILCA 6 pre-regatta training clinic will be held in Larnaca, Cyprus, from June 28 to July 1 at the Nautical Club of Larnaca, under the guidance of Coach Angelo Tabernero Cortés. The event is aimed at developing sailors who are preparing for upcoming competitions and are looking to elevate their sailing through a focused, well-structured training programme.

Each training day follows a full-day structure, beginning with a morning meeting and boat preparation at the club. The programme is designed to maximise time on the water while maintaining a clear training focus and efficient daily routine.

Daily Timetable

• 10:00 – Meeting at the club & boat preparation

• 11:00 – Boat launching

On-the-Water Training

• 15-minute warm-up on a short course

• 1.5 hours speed testing upwind, using rabbit starts

• 1.5 hours downwind technique development

• 1.5 hours short-course regattas, focusing on start-line boat control and racing tactics

After Sailing

• Video analysis with personalised feedback

Daily activities conclude at approximately 18:00.

The training programme places strong emphasis on technique, speed development, start-line execution, boat handling under pressure, and tactical decision-making, helping sailors translate training into improved race performance. Group numbers are limited to ensure individual attention and meaningful feedback, making the clinic suitable for sailors who want to take the next step in their racing development.
