Optimist Pre-Regatta Clinic

SailPro, in collaboration with Coach Eduard Rodes, is organising a high-level Optimist training clinic in Cyprus, designed to enhance young sailors’ technical skills, racing knowledge, and overall competitive performance. This intensive programme provides an excellent opportunity for sailors to combine structured training with race-focused practice in a professional coaching environment.

The clinic is aimed at sailors preparing for upcoming regattas and focuses on the key performance areas required for consistent results at a competitive level. Training will include both on-water sessions and classroom-based analysis, with personalised feedback throughout the programme.

Limited availability: 10 sailors only

Eligibility

The clinic is open to Optimist sailors aged 10–15 years who have been actively competing in regattas for at least two years.

Clinic Focus Areas

• Boat setup, rig tuning, and optimisation

• Starts

• Racing strategy and tactical decision-making

• Video analysis and performance review

To maximise the effectiveness of the tuning sessions, sailors are strongly encouraged to bring their own spars.

Daily Programme

09:30 – Briefing & technical video session

10:30 – Boat rigging & tuning

11:30 – On-water sailing exercises

13:00 – Lunch ashore

14:00 – Regatta practice

16:00 – Return to shore

16:30 – Debriefing & video session

17:30 – End of day

17:30–19:00 – Optional individual guidance for interested sailors

€600 per sailor
